ChaCha Wine

Situated in the southern corner of Western Australia lies one of the world’s greatest wine producing regions, Margaret River. It is here where Charlotte Newton’s ChaCha wines are carefully crafted using traditional European techniques.
Exceptional fruit from the southern parts of Margaret River has been used to create the ChaCha 2018 Chardonnay. This is a wine that speaks of provenance, reflecting the pristine environment in which the grapevines are grown. Whole bunches of fruit have been hand-picked and gently pressed, then allowed to ferment naturally before a leisurely maturation in French oak barriques to add complexity and build the flavour profile.

2022 ChaCha Chardonnay

This is a wine of elegance and finesse. The natural balance of the Chardonnay fruit dominates in this perfectly balanced wine that has been crafted with minimal intervention. It is medium-bodied with aromas of grapefruit, nashi pear, lemon curd, vanilla sponge cake and buttered toast. The palate is a delicious combination of rich, succulent pear and dew melon characters with a fine, mouth watering acidity that balances harmoniously with the fruit. A toasty, nutty core with subtle oak and mineral influences frame the finish.

About Charlotte Newton

wine educator - consultant - wine maker

It was whilst she was living in New Zealand in the 1990s that Charlotte developed a fascination for wine and wanted to unearth the stories within each bottle. After completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University, Charlotte moved to Australia where she completed vintages in the Hunter, Barossa and Yarra Valleys with prestigious wineries such as St Hallett and Coldstream Hills.
European wines have long held a fascination for Charlotte, who seized the opportunity to work as a winemaker in France’s renowned Languedoc and Chablis regions. This is where her interest in Chardonnay deepened. Once the seed was sown, Charlotte moved to Margaret River to finesse her knowledge of Chardonnay at Devil’s Lair winery.

For some time, Charlotte has wanted to create her own European-influenced wine style, which has led to the evolution of her private label, ChaCha Wine. Charlotte’s passion for meticulously handcrafted wines is evident from the moment you take a sip of any of ChaCha's wines
